Rose Garden Soap

Warm vanilla mixed with heady rose and striking lavender in an intoxicating scent that’s sure to please any floral lover.

Ingredients: Olive oil, Grape seed oil, Cocoa butter, Mango butter, Shea butter, Water, Lye, Essential oil, Mica powder

Size: ~7 oz

This is a fantastic floral handmade soap that has been scented with soothing lavender and exquisite rose along with an undercurrent of warm vanilla. This soap contains no palm, no tallow, and no coconut.

For it to last longer please dry between uses and/or set in a draining soap dish.

Our vegan handmade soaps contain glycerin, which commercial “beauty bar” brands take out. Glycerin is a natural by-product when you mix oils and lye. Glycerin is what makes your skin soft after you get out of a shower. Commercial brands actually take the glycerin out of the soap so they can add it to their lotions making you buy 2 things instead of just 1.

We do not, and never will, use fragrance oils in any of our soap. We prefer that our scents come from nature and not from a lab.

Lavender: It is known for its soothing properties that help relax and destress. It is also known to help with promoting a good night’s rest as it does help the body relax. That lavender is also antibacterial, antimicrobial, and antifungal is another great benefit.

Vanilla: Warm and uplifting, this oil raises the spirits as well as brings comfort. This does discolor the soap and makes it more brown than cream. While it has no known medicinal uses, the smell reminds me of baking with my grandmother in better times past….

We use Rose absolute oil to keep our soap affordable as rose essential oil is very expensive, uses a lot of roses, and has a very low yield. It actually takes about 60,000 roses to make a single ounce of rose essential oil. I honestly don’t think we have enough room in our backyards for that many roses.

The difference between an Absolute oil and an essential oil is that absolutes are obtained through solvent extraction. In solvent extraction, a solvent, such as a carrier oil, is combined with plant material. The oil from the plant material mixes with the solvent and then the solvent and oil are separated.

Rose absolute is actually preferred as it has a stronger scent overall. This means that it has much more staying power than rose essential oil, which is perfect for soap making and all other sorts of beauty projects.

Rose: This oil has many properties. It can reduce stress and anxiety. Rose absolute is an antidepressant, antiseptic, antiviral, and an anti-inflammatory all rolled in one. It can even ease menstruation symptoms such as cramps, headache, and even fatigue.
