Ingredients: Arrowroot powder, Kaolin clay, Essential oil (optional)
What a wonderful, classic alternative to many of today’s deodorants! Our body powders are simple odor absorbers with a nice scent added in. They leave you feeling light and airy, as well as smelling fantastic!
It also has a long history as dusting powders were used by the VAD nurses in WWI and was very much enjoyed as other makeup and perfume were not allowed.
C : The smell of my great-grandmother when she gave hugs…..roses, vanilla, and baby powder.
Our current essential oil selection is lavender, vanilla essence, sweet orange, tea tree, rose absolute, lemon, lemongrass, and peppermint. You can pick either 1 or 2 to add into your body powder so you smell absolutely wonderful.
If you would like a custom scent please feel free to contact us and we will be more than happy to create something just for you. We can also add flowers and other herbs to the mix for a more natural feeling and scent!
M: This is wonderful if you have sensitive skin. My skin absolutely hates salt, baking soda, and aluminum based deodorants. I have had the worst luck finding something that actually works. This is one of the things I have made that does not irritate my skin in the slightest.
Definitely make sure it’s closed. This is a very fine powder and “puffs” into the air with very little initiation. Very pretty to see in videos, not so much when you have to clean it off of whatever surface you’re using.
It’s actually so fine that I would be careful if you have asthma, as it may prove to be an irritant.
It’s also not just a deodorant. I use it to stop chafing and lightly perfume myself everywhere. It’s an amazing way to freshen up.
Kaolin Clay: This stuff is a game changer. It is so gentle that it can even be used on babies with it’s soft super fine texture. It also prevents chafing and rashes since it’s naturally absorbent. Other clays can actually pull oil away from the skin, but not kaolin clay, which means it also won’t dry out your skin.
Arrowroot Powder: This is a super soft, silky powder that we use as the base of our dusting powders. It’s highly absorbent, and just like kaolin clay, isn’t going to dry out your skin.
If you need to change either of these 2 ingredients please let us know and we will be happy to accommodate you.
Since you’ve made it this far here’s something extra. M: I totally use this as a dry shampoo. It works amazingly well. The only problem is that it can get a little messy as I haven’t found a sure fire way to get it down to the roots of my hair without getting it everywhere else too.
I hope we’ve managed to answer your questions. If not, please drop us a line and we will be more than happy to get back to you. For now, I leave you with this quote from Edith Cavell, a WWI British nurse who helped over 200 Allied soldiers to escape from German occupied Belgium. She was executed for this act of bravery.
“I thank God for this ten weeks’ quiet before the end. Life has always been hurried and full of difficulty. This time of rest has been a great mercy. They have all been very kind to me here. But this I would say, standing as I do in view of God and eternity, I realize that patriotism is not enough. I must have no hatred or bitterness towards any one.”
